Jim Thorpe's Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, 4/20/13 (Rain Date 4/21/13) & 13th Moon is getting involved by holding a "Green It Up" Workshop on making your own natural cleaning products!  The workshop will be held at 2pm in the Race Street Park (right across the street from the shop!) and will cover Spray and Powdered Cleaners along with how to make your own Cleaning Wipes!  As an Earth Day Special, it's only a $5 donation for supplies!  Email Selena@13thMoonCreations.com to reserve your spot or if you have any questions.  Want to take home more than a few samples and ideas?  We will have our favorite book on the subject, The Naturally Clean Home by Karyn Siegel-Maier for sale for only $10.95!  All who attend the workshop will also get a 10% off Coupon for 13th Moon!  Kits will also be available for various DIY projects!  Stay tuned!

Spring Cleaning at 13th Moon!

We have begun prepping for Springtime here at 13th Moon and you know what that means...Spring Cleaning!

Spring Cleaning means taking stock of what you have, what you need, and what you don't, of what works and what doesn't.  That has certainly been the focus here for us, and not just in prepping for this Spring.  

Over the past year, we have learned first hand how holding on to things can leave you stagnant, how allowing certain people to influence your direction just leads you further & further from your goals.  Quite frankly, you are just better off without some people in your life.  Staying true to yourself and your customers, in our instance, is the only way to truly succeed and is certainly our focus for 2013.  
 
We are clearing out some inventory and old packaging, getting rid of our dried herbs section (at huge discounts while supplies last), unveiling new products and starting classes!  Yes, we've been quite busy!

As of April 1st, we will be holding classes at 13th Moon!

What are you doing to get ready for Spring and lighten your load?

"Geisha" will be ready on July 20th!

This is the first of the newest batches that was made in June, 2012...I have been dreaming of working with these fragrances for months.  My goal was to have this done and out for the beginning of Spring, but clearly I am behind...but I do believe she is worth the wait...

"Geisha" Coconut Milk & Clay Soap (pre-stamping, just cut)

She was made with our main base mix of oils & butters: Palm, Olive, Coconut, and Castor Oils with a blend of Shea and Cocoa Butters with Coconut Milk Powder for a thick, rich, and creamy lather.

"Geisha" was made in two layers.  The first layer being burgundy in color from the Australian Red Reef Clay and is scented with a lovely and delicate blend of Cherry Blossoms, Pomegranate Seeds, Tart Currants, White Magnolias, Peaches, Strawberries, Lemons, Rose, Lily of the Valley, Spices, Creamy Vanilla, and a touch of Cedarwood.  She was then topped with a creamy opaque layer of Yuzu (a Japanese citrus fruit) and Smooth, Creamy Vanilla.  The top was delicately textured and then I sprinkled some Cranberry Seeds on the top to bring some of the deep burgundy color up to the top of the bar.

This bar is good for any skin type.  It has the coconut milk's thick, rich, creamy lather, the high iron and essential mineral content and detoxifying properties from the Australian Red Reef Clay, which help it to replenish and regenerate the epidermis of the skin.  If you can normally use things with fragrance on your face, you should not have any problems with this bar.
